Sentenced to 30 years in a Nicaraguan prison for a murder he says he didn’t commit, Eric Volz’s Latin American surfing dream has turned into a nightmare, complete with machete-wielding lynch mobs, a trial in the media (and on YouTube), and a stopover in a notorious Sandinista torture chamber. How did it come to this?
