There hasn't been one diet in the history of diets that has worked on a large scale. That's because good nutrition has to be part of a whole lifestyle shift. To change the way you eat, you have to create a system you can live with. Don't kid yourself: If you really love to eat big steaks, you're not going to be successful drinking only vegetable juice. Better to be realistic. Eat your steaks, but slowly cut back from there. You need to follow a plan for nutrition that you can make into a habit you don't want to break. If you never fully ban a food, you are more likely to have it under control. So keep a loose set of rules that you're allowed to occasionally bend. You will gain confidence in your ability to follow them.
