There's a trend in cameras at the moment – fixed-lens, large-sensor compacts that sacrifice the ability to zoom in exchange for crisper, more distortion-free optics. The GR is the movement's best example yet: With its solid build quality, 16-megapixel APS-C sensor (a size more typical of DSLRs and Micro Four Thirds cameras than compacts), and stellar wide-angle 28mm lens, the Ricoh GR is the street photographer's new best friend, and proves that simpler can sometimes be better.
