"On a beautiful day, especially at dusk when it's a bit cooler, one of my favorite things to do is ride the St. Charles Ave streetcar line to Emeril's Delmonico with my wife," says Brees. The century-old eatery, known for its modern Louisiana Creole staples like jerk spiced lamb loin and grilled gulf swordfish, was reopened in 1998 following an extensive, historic restoration by now-celeb chef Emeril Lagasse. "They've got a nice little bar there," says Brees. "We'll sit down together and have a glass of wine," he says. "We enjoy those little things, like being tourists in our own town."
