When your kids get old enough to start feeling competitive, it'll no doubt be tempting to occasionally throw a game. After all, they're your kids. You want them to be happy. Winning – and beating you – would make them happy, especially if you're averaging more than 21 points a game on a team that's currently dominating the Eastern Conference. But Wade doesn't believe in taking a dive. "Never," he says good-naturedly, "or it's over for them. They're not gonna win. Now they're at the age when they start talking a lot and they think they're better than what they are, so if you let them win they're really going to think they're good. You gotta let them know that they're not." After all, a little friendly family competition is a motivator.
