The Full Story: During the 2013-2014 winter, the city of Duluth, Minnesota saw its coldest season in 35 years, and its longest stretch of sub-zero days in history. Local photographer Hansi Johnson perched on the edge of an ice shelf hanging over Lake Superior to capture his friend Casey Krueger dropping in to ride the floes (floating ice sheets) along the shoreline.
