Watch a Climbing Prodigy Scale One of the World’s Hardest Boulders

In January, German climber Alex Megos spent eleven days completing the third ascent of Lucid Dreaming, a V15 climbing route in the Buttermilks, a famous site for bouldering in the desert in southeast California. "It's the longest project I've ever had," the 21-year-old prodigy says of the difficult ascent. "It's such a pure line." In this gripping, short Red Bull video, Megos spends days battling the ascent's razor-sharp granite holds, losing skin along the way before a bit of moisture helps create the right conditions for his holds. "It's overwhelming," Megos says, raising his arms in victory after completing the bouldering ascent. "You're so satisfied and you can't stop laughing. It's a really good feeling."
