It won't be easy for the Warner Brothers Point Break remake to surpass the original cult classic with Keanu Reeves, Patrick Swayze, and Gary Busey, but director Ericson Core appears up for the challenge. In just-released footage, Core explains how the new film introduced and shot big wave surfing for Bodhi and Johnny Utah's story.
With Laird Hamilton returning as a technical advisor, the crew shot on the waves of the legendary Teahupo'o break with pro surfers Bruce Irons, Dylan Longbottom, and Laurie Towner as stunt doubles. But the surfers weren't the only ones facing the dangers of the massive waves, with cameramen also in the water, and often under the surfers, to captures the shots.
Point Break opens on December 25, but the video above will give you a taste of the huge surfing and stunts to come.
