The Mountain From 'Game of Thrones' Breaks His Craziest Record Yet

Hafthor Bjornsson, better known as the Game of Thrones character "The Mountain," has proven once again that there's no feat of strength he can't master. The 6'9, 386-pound Icelander made an appearance on the Guinness World Records Italian Show to break an obscure — yet impressive — record: the 20-Meter Fridge Carry. For the unfamiliar, the 20-Meter Fridge Carry is simply a 20-meter dash while shouldering the weight of two fridges (the official Strongman term for this move is a yoke carry). The refrigerators combined with the hulking structure that holds them weigh in at nearly 1,000 pounds, or about the same weight as a grand piano.

Bjornsson didn't take on this record alone. On the show, he faced 2014 World's Strongest Man Zydrunas Savickas. Both men completed the task, but it was Bjornsson in his Icelandic-flag-themed singlet who took the record, crossing the distance in under 20 seconds. This might not come as a surprise for people familiar with Bjornsson's accomplishments, however: the Mountain already broke a 1,000-year-old record in 2015 when he carried a 1,400-pound, 30-foot Viking ship mast.
