Watch a Time Lapse of the Final Ice Breakdown at Nassau Coliseum

Nassau Coliseum has seen its share of hockey ups (four straight Islander Stanley Cup wins in the early 1980s) and downs (nearly every other Islanders season since then), but until the team's last game on Long Island after being eliminated by Alexander Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, the NHL's last old barn of a hockey arena hasn't seen anything as sad as this video of the ice being broken down for the final time. As the franchise prepares to start the 2015-16 season in their newer, flashier digs in Brooklyn, take a minute to watch this video and honor not just the end of an era on Long Island, but for the game itself.
