Mon 12/19: Antiques Roadshow (PBS)
The beginning of the week calls for a little good old-fashioned escapism, and that goes doubly on the pressure cooker days leading into a holiday vacation. No program is better for that than the beloved Antiques Roadshow series, which has garnered 14 Emmy nominations over the course of its four-decade run. For those who have been hiding under a rock, the show features a roster of antiques appraisers who travel to cities all over the world to put a value on trinkets brought in by the local populations, all of which is filmed for broadcast. This episode goes back to the first 20 seasons to show a few of the best items, including a Navajo Ute First Phase Blanket, a signed Warhol collection, and a marble lion from the Tang Dynasty.
