Every Which Way But Loose (1978)
Clint Eastwood was reportedly advised not to make this uncharacteristic comedy, following his successful turns in Spaghetti Westerns and Dirty Harry. Hopefully he fired whoever gave that advice, because it became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, and showcased his rarely seen comedic skills playing Philo Beddoe, a brawler who spends his days driving a truck. There are plenty of reasons to watch this movie, including but not limited to his pet orangutan, Clyde.
The Scene: Eastwood isn’t even in one of the most ridiculous scenes of the movie, where a sweet old lady pulls a shotgun out and teaches some manners to the Black Widows motorcycle gang that rides up on her lawn.
