Little Fauss and Big Halsy (1970)
Robert Redford was coming off the box office smash Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and looking for a character that would rough up his image. He found it in the womanizing Halsy Knox, a racer who is banned from competing after drinking on the track. It may not be Redford’s best performance, but it’s one of his most interesting ones — and as a long time motorcycle enthusiast he certainly looks effortlessly cool on the Yamaha DT-1 dirt bike.
The Scene: Showcasing that legendary cool, when a girl comes around the track with beers, Halsy literally picks her up and pulls her onto his dirt bike before speeding away.
