Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)
“Make it cool or I’ll kill you.” Those were the words that George Miller spoke to production designer Colin Gibson, who made all of the vehicles for the movie that would eventually win six Oscars. The words landed, and the machines on display in Fury Road are all deserving of the gold. It was the first time that Max was seen on a motorcycle in franchise history, and he chose well for a desert speed chase, mounting up on a Yamaha R1. Since the movie’s release there was a lot of talk about Charlize Theron’s Furiousa stealing the show, and she also choses well on the road, riding a BMW R80 in a R69 frame.
The Scene: Mad Max and the ladies are on the run in their war rig when the Rock Riders chase them down. The group employs some gnarly stunts off the rocks to try to stop the escaping party, doing flips over the truck and dropping down explosives in an exhilarating scene.
