The Wild One (1953)
“The Wild One is one of my favorites for one simple reason: Marlon Brando,” says Norman Reedus, star of The Walking Dead and host of upcoming Ride with Norman Reedus, a motorcycle travel show on AMC. Despite an arguably flimsy plot about two rival gangs, the movie stands tall on the back of Brando’s brilliance and the iconic imagery of him perched confidently on his 1950 Triumph 6T Thunderbird.
The Scene: Brando’s Johnny Strabler exits his favorite bar, Bleeker’s, to see the rival gang leader, Chino, sitting on his motorcycle with Johnny’s stolen trophy. “Don’t do that,” Johnny says before they engage in an epic fight.
