Tues, 5/23: Unearthed (Science Channel)
There is a lot of attention paid toward where we are going as a civilization, especially with the technological advancements being made daily, but these same tools can also be pointed at our past to allow us to understand it better. That is what Unearthed accomplishes. Through LiDAR scanning, X-ray imaging, carbon dating, and 3D printing the producers investigate the structures of our history. Subjects investigated include how the Parthenon still stands against earthquakes; how sticky rice was used to build the Great Wall of China; and what sacred secret lies beneath the Mayan temples of Chichen Itza.
