Kind bars had already won us over as all-natural, nutrient-dense, salty-sweet snacks. Now, the brand is looking to go bar-snack-savory with Strong & Kind, a new line set to hit stores in April. Packed with almonds, pumpkinseeds, hemp seeds, and pea crisp, these bars offer ample protein and fiber to fuel you up between meals and are a rich source of vitamins E and B2, essential amino acids, iron, and other key minerals.
There are five flavors – Honey Smoked BBQ, Honey Mustard, Roasted Jalapeño, Hickory Smoked, and Thai Sweet Chili – that remind us of those addicting bar-top snack mixes that the bartender keeps replenishing (although we wish he wouldn't). But unlike those salt- and saturated fat-packed munchies, Strong & Kind bars are low in sodium, with just 115 to 140 milligrams. Instead of salt, these bars rely on ingredients such as mustard seed, jalapeño chili, basil, and garlic and onion powders for flavor.
As for fat, each bar contains 16 grams total and 1.5 grams of saturated fat. That means there's hardly any heart-damaging fat but 14.5 grams of the mono- and polyunsaturated types, which fill you up and are great for your heart when eaten in moderation. And as with all Kind products, Strong & Kind skips the added sugars and artificial ingredients found in so many bars and processed snacks.
More Info: Strong & Kind will be available online only at kindsnacks.com starting April 1. You'll start seeing the bars on store shelves later in April and in May as Kind rolls them out to retailers nationwide.
