Saturdays Surf is one of those odd operations that, strictly by the numbers, makes little sense: A full-service surf shop peddling boards, wax, videos, books, wetsuits, and other usual (and unusual) wave-centric paraphernalia, planted smack-dab in the middle of Manhattan's swanky SoHo neighborhood. (Then again, as city surfers all know, hop on the subway a couple blocks away, and you can be hitting the swells at Rockaway Beach in an hour.) But surf gear aside, it was its line of casual sportswear that first caught our eye – in particular, the perfectly cut Esquina Oxford shirt. It fits like a polo, is just the right length, and the collar is just the right kind of minimal button-down that doesn't ever bunch up, double over, or lay down on you. Stash it in your beach bag for an easy cover-up, or throw a jacket on (hey, even a tie), and you're ready for anything – even a night out in SoHo. [$98;]
