Build a Wild Hut
For Humpreys, this one-day microadventure started with an email from Kevin in Glasgow, who invited him to build a wild hut using sticks and dry grass in the wilderness of Scotland (and then sleep in it). In America’s mountainous states like Colorado, this often takes the form of building an igloo or snow cave. There’s something deeply satisfying about creating a shelter in the wild, even if it’s just temporary. You can start in your backyard, too, by building a treehouse.
