Clothes are a popular and easy gift, but there's a reason why ties and scarves have endured as go-tos despite being done to death: They never need tailoring. You may find your brother the perfect blazer in exactly the right size, but if he needs to get a couple darts put in, you've just dropped an extra expense in his lap. Sport coats, slacks, fitted dresses (sheaths, shifts, pencil skirts), and structured jackets or blouses often need to be tailored to fit exactly right. You wouldn't wear a wool overcoat unless the sleeves were the right length, and neither would your giftee.
