Over 100 craft brewers poured their wares at the Portland stop of Sierra Nevada's epic beer festival. We dove deep into the local Portland beers and found that, with a few exceptions, our favorites tended to fall into one of two categories: rustic, low alcohol quaffers, and massively hoppy pale ales and IPAs. The Beer: Hop Swap IPA
Tasting Notes: Sebago's Brewings team offers hop swap as a seasonal IPA over the summers. Each year though they rethink the recipe's hop bill and incorporate new varieties. The 2014 edition features Amarilo, Citra, Belma and Hopsteiner's 05256 (so new it hasn't been named yet) for a hoppy punch of grapefruit, pineapple and pine flavor.
