Most Ignorant Drivers
Drivers Should Avoid: Washington, D.C.
Coming up with a comprehensive way to rank drivers is complicated, so in 2011 GMAC Insurance attempted to quantify driver competence based on the most basic stat: a written driving test. And based on the company's survey it seems that our nation's capital found that some of the nation's worst drivers weren't in a state at all but in Washington, D.C. The insurer based its rankings on how well — or how little — drivers understood rules of the road where they lived. The result? It found that a third of drivers in the nation's capital were incapable of passing a basic written driving test.
