With some 2,800 craft brewers in the nation, many of them serving up their beers only in their hometown, it's pretty much impossible to try everything. That's why we went to each city in Beer Camp Across America, the seven-stop festival that offered space to every brewery in the nation. At these stops, we sampled hundreds of beers unique to (and sometimes only known in) each region. Here from the Chico, California fest are our favorite small-time brews from the Pacific Northwest – ones you'll have to try next time you're traveling in Oregon, Washington, or Northern California.
Drake's Alpha Session IPA: San Leandro, California
The Brewery: Drake's Brewing Company, brewery in San Leandro, California
The Beer: Alpha Session IPA
Tasting Notes: Weighing in at a wee 3.8 percent ABV, the session ale is a bright blast of citrus, pine, and sunshine. You can gulp it by the gallon.
