For Your Home Phone
Do the buttons require a ton of effort to work? Does it take forever to recharge? A good cleaning can solve both. Slide the battery cover off and unplug the rechargeable cells. Remove the screws holding the two halves of the phone together. Gently pry them apart with a flathead screwdriver or pocketknife. Take out the rubber keypad and clean the front with soapy water. With a cotton swab dampened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, clean the circuit board under each digit, the black dots on the back of the keypad, and the metal contacts on the bottom of the phone and the cradle. Once the alcohol dries, reassemble everything.
