Use cast iron creatively.

Every man knows that a well-seasoned cast-iron pan (like this Le Creuset Signature 11 3/4-inch skillet) is one of the best culinary investments you can make: It retains heat, can be safely transferred from stovetop to oven, and excels at searing steaks and roasting chickens. We've also discovered that it can make a killer pizza. Start by lightly oiling the pan, and then press the dough across it. Spread the sauce on top, and cook on low heat for 6 to 8 minutes, until browned. Add toppings, and place the entire pan in an oven preheated to 350 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes. You'll get a chewy, seared crust comparable to that from the best brick oven. [$215;]
