Up Up Lookout
Built in the 1930s, this tower has a spectacular setting, situated on a rock pinnacle in the alpine forest of western Montana. Take in panoramas of the thick forests in the Ward Eagle roadless area, which includes the beautiful St. Regis River drainage. Hike or bike the trails of Eagle Peak or fish one of the gin-clear creeks. Includes: Twin bed, propane lights, and heater, but no cooking facilities. No water; pit toilet on the ground ($30 per night).
