Twice a year, outdoor gear companies descend on Salt Lake City with their most innovative offerings. At the Winter Show, we get to try out new helmet cameras, winter coats, and, of course, the latest shred-worthy skis. In the summer, however, we get to bask in the Utah sun on bikes, paddleboards, and trails and try out the newest backpacks, shells, and tents. We pored over the wares from hundreds of exhibitors, found our favorite items, and narrowed our list down to 12 things we want to take home right now.
Smith Overtake Bike Helmet
The Overtake is an extremely aerodynamic, ultra lightweight (250 grams) road biking helmet that offers top-notch protection thanks to Koroyd, a new kind of superfoam. But above that, the helmet promises to have superior fit, thanks to the Vapor Fit system that offers a 360-degree fit to maintain even pressure throughout. Furthermore, its Hythel material will maintain rigidity in a large range of temperatures, meaning when your head heats up and you sweat, the helmet won’t slip. Paired with Smith’s Arena Sunglasses, the lightest interchangeable shield on the market, the helmet and glasses also lock together for easy access and storage.
