Twice a year, outdoor gear companies descend on Salt Lake City with their most innovative offerings. At the Winter Show, we get to try out new helmet cameras, winter coats, and, of course, the latest shred-worthy skis. In the summer, however, we get to bask in the Utah sun on bikes, paddleboards, and trails and try out the newest backpacks, shells, and tents. We pored over the wares from hundreds of exhibitors, found our favorite items, and narrowed our list down to 12 things we want to take home right now.
The North Face's Dot Matrix Jacket
The Dot Matrix Jacket has a durable and water proof nylon shoulder area with the breathable, lightweight, suppleness of a polyester-blend. The FuseForm technology, which weaves two different fabrics together in a single fabric, means less seams and less weight (the jacket weighs 11.46 ounces), more breathability (taped seams don’t breath) and less failure (blown out seams are the number one type of failure in jackets).
