Twice a year, outdoor gear companies descend on Salt Lake City with their most innovative offerings. At the Winter Show, we get to try out new helmet cameras, winter coats, and, of course, the latest shred-worthy skis. In the summer, however, we get to bask in the Utah sun on bikes, paddleboards, and trails and try out the newest backpacks, shells, and tents. We pored over the wares from hundreds of exhibitors, found our favorite items, and narrowed our list down to 12 things we want to take home right now.
Therm-a-Rest EvoLite Pad
The 17-ounce, 20 x 72-inch EvoLite is one thick self-inflating pad that offers a warmer night's sleep, thanks to foam and air channels inside. The whole thing is wrapped in a durable nylon shell and sits two inches off the ground when inflated. It promises to be light, comfortable, and warm: everything you want in a backcountry-sleeping pad.
