Twice a year, outdoor gear companies descend on Salt Lake City with their most innovative offerings. At the Winter Show, we get to try out new helmet cameras, winter coats, and, of course, the latest shred-worthy skis. In the summer, however, we get to bask in the Utah sun on bikes, paddleboards, and trails and try out the newest backpacks, shells, and tents. We pored over the wares from hundreds of exhibitors, found our favorite items, and narrowed our list down to 12 things we want to take home right now.
Yeti Soft Cooler
This 6.5-gallon tote cooler is leak-proof and, the company claims, will keep ice for days. If that's the case, we might well be looking at the ultimate beach day and river trip accessory. Big enough to fit 18 cans plus ice, the cooler is made from DryHide nylon with welded seams — similar to whitewater rafts — and sealed by a waterproof HydroLok zipper similar to those used by the military in survival suits. It also comes equipped with a detachable storage pouch and is topped off by a heavy-duty padded shoulder strap that makes carrying the full cooler comfortable.
