You already know that mayo is the king of condiments, but Michael Voltaggio of Ink.Sack has another use for it – he spreads it on the outside of sliced bread before toasting it golden brown. "It gives it this French toast kind of crispness that's super delicious," he says. Unlike butter, mayo won't burn, and it brings a little bit of tangy flavor. Try it the next time you make grilled cheese.
