"Use a tripod and a long exposure," Winter explains, "this cactus in Baja California, Mexico, is literally painted by my flashlight at a five-minute exposure." The results you get will depend on the lens and sensor you have and the ambient light, but fiddling with intense light sources during long exposure times can create some fascinating effects.
