Becoming a good photographer means being able to portray the same things we all see every day in an original way. The point is you'll be far more prepared to take amazing shots in the wilds of the jungle if you're able to make something interesting out of the squirrels in your own backyard. "Use your cat and its scratching post, or maybe you have birds that live in your backyard," Winter says. "Figure out the composition and lighting, and be creative."
