As World Cup 2014 approaches, America's soccer-fans-in-training are looking for an excuse to either emotionally invest in a national squad with the odds stacked against it, or in foreign teams full of pretty-boy savants and shameless floppers. Soccer fandom is complicated, but this year's tournament is making it easier to enjoy the competition. There are grudge matches right out of the gate, must-win games for would-be worldbeaters, and home town crowds looking for an excuse to riot. Welcome to Brazil.
