As World Cup 2014 approaches, America's soccer-fans-in-training are looking for an excuse to either emotionally invest in a national squad with the odds stacked against it, or in foreign teams full of pretty-boy savants and shameless floppers. Soccer fandom is complicated, but this year's tournament is making it easier to enjoy the competition. In a typical tournament, fans would cross their fingers and hope to see Ronaldo take on one of the world's greatest teams. This year, they'll get to see it on June 16, when Portugal face Germany.
