Indoors, the 5.6-inch-long Turtle Shell is a great-sounding device for its size, with solid bass response and multidirectional output that easily fills a room. As an outdoor speaker, though, this turtle's shell was too fragile for our tests – when the top-facing grille took in water under a gentle spray, the audio sounded like a clock radio under a blanket.
