Illinois: After-Hours Chicago

New York isn't the only city that never sleeps. Chicago is crawling with dive bars and restaurants that go the distance. Native sons Pat and Mike Sheerin, of high-end Wicker Park gastropub Trenchermen, gave us the rundown on where the city's chefs hang when their kitchens close:

Bangers & Lace is an "incredible beer bar" that serves house-made sausages till one. Ming Hin, a Chinese restaurant, has huge booths and serves till two. Get the Macao pork belly – "rich and unctuous with crispy skin." Longman & Eagle slings top whiskies and fancy pub grub like wild-boar sloppy joes till two in the morning. At Los Comales, you can get Mexican, complete with "humongous pickled jalapeños and really good horchata." If you're still out at 4, hit Bijan's Bistro to sit side-by-side with soused chefs eating snails and burgers, and washing it down with the house red.
