North Carolina: Hunt With a Hawk
The King Fisher Society is a fishing geek's fantasy camp: more than 2,500 lakefront acres where you and a dozen of your closest friends and office rivals can fish off an electric-powered bass boat and shoot clays at the five stand (five men aiming guns skyward). Hang by the fire pit with a scotch or hunt quail with two trained hawks that fly behind Irish Setters. A pair of corporate titans once sealed a deal over a six-pack in an 1800s log cabin here. But you can take the day off.
Getting there: From Fayetteville, drive 40 minutes to the King Fisher Society, where fishing trips are $600 per person (must be a party of at least four).
