Dressing for the office gets trickier as the weather gets warmer. You want to look buttoned up, but you don't want to overheat or sweat through thick fabrics. Time to break out the linen blends and light colors. Instead of spending a bundle on expensive shirts, which will – let's face it – probably be permanently pit-stained before August, pick up a couple of these affordable-but-good-looking summer shirts.
Uniqlo Linen Shirt
Uniqlo is a great place to start if you're building a work wardrobe on the cheap – if the fit works for you. For guys who are slim, it's perfect, but guys who aren't will have to go up a size and then spend money to tailor the sleeves. Still, its offerings are by and large worth the effort. Uniqlo divides its button-downs into "Casual" and "Dress" shirts, but don't pay attention to that: The casual linen line comes in the best colors and looks by far the most expensive. For days when you want to blend in at the office, pick something solid in a dark color – the 09 Black, 07 Gray and 67 Blue are fantastic – or, when you want to make more of a statement, go for the linen stripe in 10 Pink, 03 Gray or 64 Blue.
