As with stress, the link between depression and sleep goes both ways. Depression is often associated with abnormalities in sleep but studies have also shown that poor sleep can predict the development of depression. The reason for this relationship has yet to be uncovered but it has been shown that impaired sleep can reduce the amount of pleasure we get out of everyday life.
