Instead of Burma, Go to Cambodia
The buzz is all about Burma of late, and the crowds and commercialism are streaming in. We still want to visit, to be sure. But Cambodia is calling, too, with a few new intrepid luxury offerings to get travelers beyond Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. With pristine coral reefs and authentic villages (how Phuket was back in the day, we imagine), the Koh Rang archipelago has just one luxury resort, Song Saa, spread across two private islands. And a new luxury river cruise, the Aqua Mekong travels past pagodas and stilt villages along the Mekong River on trips to lesser visited locales between Phnom Penh and Siem Riep.
