Buck FlashPoint knife.
Most ultralight knives make it feel as though you're cutting with a letter opener. At four ounces, the FlashPoint certainly isn't the lightest available, but its one-handed operation (depress the handle lock; swing the knife open) makes it a sound choice. The knife, with a blade sporting a half-serrated edge for sawing, also incorporates a bottle opener for when you're car camping. [$55; buckknives.com]
