Forget the funny name: This is a Colorado-based brand worth paying attention to. There's not much to the L-Toro – it's built with a poplar-wood core and plastic sidewalls – but this is a surprisingly snappy ski, capable of ripping off arcing turns of various sizes and nimbly bouncing through moguls. And with 101mm underfoot, it obviously floats well in powder. [$790; fat-ypus.com]
