Omega-3 and omega-6 are known as essential fatty acids (EFAs). Essential, meaning that for optimal health, they must be taken in through food, since your body cannot produce them.

Meeting your EFA needs will allow your body to burn fat more efficiently, and thereby boosting your physical endurance and helping you become leaner. Smooth, subtle skin, clear eyes, and shiny hair are also dependent upon EFAs. The best EFA sources – many of which can be combined into a morning smoothie – are hemp, chia, flax, walnuts, some types of algae, and Sacha inchi.
