New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees holds 61 NFL records, including most completions (468) and passing yards (5,476) in a single season. But in his free time, the Uptown resident shuns the gridiron in favor of exploring his adopted hometown's world-famous Louisiana Creole kitchens. "Friday night is date night for me and my wife," he says, "and we have our spots." We caught up with the Super Bowl XLIV MVP at Samsung's Hope for Children benefit, where he shared his first-choice chophouse, oyster haunt, and – who could possibly forget – his go-to Nawlins sno-ball truck. Peace, Love, and Sno-balls
Before July two-a-days drag the all-time single season passing leader away from his family, the future Hall-of-Famer spends quality time with his family at Audubon Park. "It has a hiking trail, a zoo at one end, and soccer fields at the other," he says. "And there's this big, green sno-ball truck that pulls up next to the jungle gyms where I take my kids all the time." So what does the father of three order for himself? "I'm not a huge sweets guy, but I go half strawberry-banana, half wedding cake," he says. "That finely shaved ice just melts in your mouth."
