At 6-foot-1, Hunter-Reay is taller than most drivers, who tend toward the short and stocky. "I'm too tall to carry any muscle without it being a problem," he explains, showing off his lean arm with slim muscles and tendons. "During race weekends, the engineers actually watch me eat lunch."
Swimming has helped Hunter-Reay put on strength without actually putting on muscle. He says it is the ultimate way to keep lean. For him, lean means fast and fast means everything.
