Beginner Recipe: Lamb

You'll need a clean cut of lamb to bring out the capsaicin punch of this rub, which tempers the fiery taste of chili flakes with the earthier tones of cardamom and cumin. This is a great recipe to build off of if you're looking to create something a bit spicier. Consider adding a bit of that McCormick "Hot Shot!" you've got in the cupboard.

Lambs Beard Rub


  • 1/2 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1/8 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp thyme leaves
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 4 tsp granulated onion
  • 1 tbsp turmeric
  • 2 tbsp kosher salt
