Men's perfumes are often advertised as all-purpose, but very few actually are. "If you're looking for something to wear in the evening or while going out – those scents tend to be much louder and project a lot more," says Hockstein. "You may not want something like that in your everyday life." She recommends considering the situations you're likely to find yourself in – like your office.
