"If you take your gaming seriously, pay close attention to the gear you're using," says Rufail. Most larger-screen televisions (42-inches and up) have high response times (the amount of time a pixel in an LCD monitor takes to go from one value to another and back again), which can hurt your chances in heads-up gun battles. If you really want to stack the deck to your advantage, the best bet is to use a computer monitor in the 20-to-27-inch range with low response time (like 5 ms), whether you're playing on a PC or a console. Anything more and you lose out in responsiveness between your actions and what's happening onscreen. Stick to HDMI or VGA cable connections, which also reduce response times.
