Hickory golf is a sort of historic re­enactment of a time when shafts were made of whippy, hard-to-control wood. Despite there being only a couple of hickory-specific courses in the world (including Oakhurst Links, West Virginia, and Kingarrock, Scotland), it's experiencing a resurgence through devoted societies and tournaments.
